AT&T just announced that it will start selling a "garnet red" version of the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone at the end of this month.
The new fiery-hued model will hit AT&T stores on July 29, and be available for pre-order starting this Sunday, July 15. As with the existing "pebble blue" and "marble white" options, the new red version will cost $199.999 with a two-year contract, AT&T said.
"This fun, new color option combined with the nation's largest 4G network make the Galaxy S III a great choice for AT&T customers," Kari Tillman, senior product marketing manager at AT&T, wrote in a blog post Thursday.
Those who are not an AT&T customer will have to settle for a blue or white model, as AT&T has the exclusive on garnet red.
The Galaxy S III has slowly been rolling out to U.S. carriers, starting first with Sprint and T-Mobile in late June and then to AT&T, Verizon, and regional carrier U.S. Cellular this month. The smartphone is also coming to C Spire.
Demand for the phone, however, delayed the Sprint and Verizon rollout. A Samsung exec said recently that he expects sales of the Galaxy S III to hit 10 million by month's end.
The smartphone boasts a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 1,280-by-720 display, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.9-megapixel front-facing one.
Meanwhile, AT&T also this week announced it will exclusively sell a bright pink version of the Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone, beginning on July 15.
