Nick Lachey's wedding day to Vanessa Minnillo was all he could have ever dreamed of, especially when he saw his bride walking down the aisle. "It literally took my breath away," he says. "It's a moment you fantasize about, and I was certainly not disappointed."
The couple tied the knot on July 15, on Sir Richard Branson's private Necker Island, surrounded by a small group of 35 guests that they surprised with the trip. Though Nick and Vanessa wanted to embrace their island surroundings, the couple also wanted very traditional aspects incorporated into their big day.
"I wanted to be in that long traditional wedding gown with heels and I wanted my groom in a tux and shoes and not barefoot on the beach," says Minnillo, 30, wore a two-piece Monique Lhuillier ensemble, told the new issue of People. "There was just something so timeless, beautiful and romantic about having that element of a traditional wedding," she says.
The four-day wedding getaway was everything the bride and groom hoped it would be, and they even managed to get by without any of those pre-wedding jitters.
"We realized it wasn't about stressing over how many tiers there were on the cake," said Minnillo. Added Lachey: "We're determined to have a great time no matter what!"
