Direct employment activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired for positions.
Contact various sources of labor supply to recruit manpower; interview job applicants; refer applicants to plant supervisory personnel; handle
details of employee orientation and training to foster positive attitude toward company and goals.
Set-up and maintain general control methods, records and files as required for effective personnel functions.
Oversee the payroll function for the plant.
Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues; coordinate and participate with plant supervision in disciplinary or
termination proceedings.
Coordinate the administration of employee safety, health, security, and benefit programs.
Negotiate collective bargaining agreement, as appropriate. Efficiently administer elements of the collective bargaining agreement while maintaining
constructive relationship.
Assure that company employment, safety, employee relations, personnel and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with applicable
federal and state labor laws.
Facilitate, develop and/or administer employee training programs to assure maximum effectiveness of employees.
Partner with plant supervision for employee appraisal and review to enhance awareness of skill sets and succession planning.
EDUCATION : Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
EXPERIENCE : Three to five years in personnel-related activities, with some experience in labor relations.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE : Strong knowledge of HR practices, procedures and state/federal employment laws. Demonstrated payroll experience as
well as administration of a collective bargaining agreement.
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE : General manufacturing concepts, understanding of drivers of P&L and balance sheet.
SKILLS : Bilingual Spanish required; excellent leadership and communication skills; analytical ability; coaching skills; ability to organize and prioritize
work; computer literate.
