Tiny N64 controller guaranteed to cause serious crampage
On the list of nerd pastimes, miniaturization ranks pretty high. So, we're not exactly surprised to see a tiny N64 controller, but we're kind of amazed that this rather extreme hack managed to avoid detection since January. The itty bitty controller isn't a mod, but an original construction built around a PIC microcontroller. You might notice that the yellow C buttons are absent, instead Kirren (the creator) went with a tiny four way switch, which you'll see above the blue and green A and B buttons. The design skips the L key, but you'll find R and Z on the rear face. For a short clip of it in action head on after the break and, if you want to build one yourself, hit up the source.

Katy Perry on American Idol: Pre-Recorded "Part of Me" Performance Booed By Audience
Katy Perry performed on American Idol Thursday night.
Sadly, it was pre-recorded, leading to a chorus of boos from an audience that was beyond pumped for her to treat them to a live rendition of "Part of Me."
While awaiting the week's American Idol results, the crowd was screaming and squealing in anticipation of Perry, one of the biggest stars in music today.
For whatever reason, the stage manager and audience coordinator refused to let the crowd in on the secret that the performance was actually pre-taped.
According to E! Online, they kept teasing enraptured fans, saying, "Should we tell them? Do you want to tell them? OK, let's just let it be a surprise."
That "surprise" sucked royally. Disappointed Katy Perry fans began booing and being vocal about their disapproval of only seeing a pretaped performance.
Pretty weak for sure. Why not just say it up front? Anyway, you can still watch Perry's pre-taped rendition of "Part of Me," her latest hit, after the jump:

Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show
Singer tells MTV News 'Fuerza Bruta' matches the 'more artistic' music on his upcoming album.

This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City's "Fuerza Bruta," an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, Usher will also use the show to preview his June album release, Looking for Myself.
Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they've ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks.
"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of 'Fuerza Bruta' would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," he explained of tying this performance to his album. "When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine ... and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked."
The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of "Fuerza Bruta" works with the sound he's created on it. "This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," he said. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen."

Wiz Khalifa Ponders Kanye Collaboration On 'RapFix Live'
Wiz will address Kanye's 'Way Too Cold' shout-out on 'Hip Hop POV' tonight at midnight on MTV.

What's not to like about all-around good guy Wiz Khalifa? Sure, rumors of a Kanye West/Wiz beef swirled after Khalifa began dating Yeezy's old flame Amber Rose, but credit both men with keeping level heads.
The Pittsburgh MC stopped by "RapFix Live" on Wednesday, and we premiered an exclusive clip from his appearance on "Hip Hop POV,", which will air on MTV tonight at midnight. In the clip, Wiz reacts to Kanye's "Way Too Cold" lyric: "The whole industry wanna f--- ya old chick/ Only n---a I got respect for is Wiz."
"I took it as he knows I'm a good guy," Wiz told the "POV" panel. "He really was into her, so the fact that we're two great people that are treating each other well, he's coming down and saying, 'Hey, hats off to you.' That's how I see it."
Khalifa told "RapFix Live" host Sway Calloway he doesn't mind answering the Kanye question. "It doesn't really bother me because it's something that people are gonna always be interested in," he said. "It's something that if I try to fight it then somebody is gonna do it to try to annoy me and then what am I gonna do then? So I just accept it for what it is and keep it pushing man. I got a whole positive campaign and it's all love."
Does that mean that we can expect to hear a Wiz and Kanye collabo? Sway hit the "Black and Yellow" MC with a hypothetical scenario: If Kanye offered up a free beat, would Wiz use it?
"I dunno," he answered.
"If I sent him a verse, do you think he would like it and want to use it for his album?" Wiz then asked Sway.
Hypothetical situations aside, Wiz didn't completely shut the door on working with 'Ye, if the circumstances were right. For him, it's all about the art. "That's what it's all about though, it's about the culture and the creativity factor," he said.

Samsung Galaxy Note for T-Mobile spotted in the wild, pretends it's no big deal
Oh, snap. By all appearances, the T-Mobile folks haven't lost sight of the popularity of the Galaxy Note, as a collection of snapshots obtained by TmoNews have revealed Samsung's phablet in none other than Magenta colors. At the very least, this suggests the Bellevue crew is considering bringing the 5.3-inch handset to its stores, and while the carrier's subscribers are currently able to use AT&T's Galaxy Note LTE on the Magenta network, it's a rather roundabout process and the results are less than ideal. We can only hope this one pans out, because really, who wouldn't love to take this monster for a proper ride on the little network that could?
